It's been a very successful week for Colin Barrett, author of our latest book Young Skins. First up, he was nominated in both the Best Newcomer and Best Short Story categories of the Irish Book Awards. And now Colin's agent Lucy Luck has secured publishing deals with Jonathan Cape UK and Grove Atlantic US for his debut novel and also for US and UK editions of Young Skins. Declan Meade of Stinging Fly Press welcomes this latest development 'This is great news for Colin and for his remarkable book of stories. It's also great news for readers in the UK and US who will now have a better opportunity to discover this wonderfully talented new writer.'

Praise for Young Skins
'a stunning debut… all seven tales converge towards one singular theme: the failure constantly lurking in the shadows of the human condition. The timeless nature of each story means this collection can – and will – be read many years from now.’
JP O'Malley, The Sunday Times

I loved these stories, and empathised with every one of the protagonists. I like the way they challenge the readers’ prejudices and leave them wanting more. The writing is superlative. Every sentence counts. We’ll be hearing a lot more from Colin Barrett.
