New website and archive coming soon

We're working on a new website, which we are launching shortly and eventually will include an archive of all our back issues. A proportion of the work is to be made generally available while our subscribers and patrons will have access to the complete archive.

We are aiming to get content from the past six years online this month.

We've begun the process of contacting our previous contributors to ask for their permission to be included in the archive, and also asking for an updated bio.

Fly on the Wall at Project Arts Centre

We have organised a series of events to take place at the Project Arts Centre on Saturday 16 April.

There will be two afternoon Fly on the Wall sessions of discussion and debate following on from topics raised by the In the Wake of the Rising issue. Making It Up, our separate evening event, will feature writers reading from works in progress and as-yet-unpublished novels and poems. 

Claire-Louise Bennett nominated for The International Dylan Thomas Prize

Claire-Louise Bennett’s debut Pond has been nominated for The International Dylan Thomas Prize 2016. We published the short story collection in April 2015, and it was subsequently released in the UK by Fitzcarraldo Editions in October.

The £30,000 Prize is awarded to awarded to the best published or produced literary work in the English language written by an author aged 39 or under.

We publish our latest book this month: Pond by Claire-Louise Bennett.

Taking applications for summer fiction workshop

We're currently taking applications for a fiction workshop to be held at the Irish Writers Centre in June.

The workshop is supported by Words Ireland.

It is an intensive week-long daytime workshop designed for writers of short stories and/or the novel. It will be led by Sean O'Reilly.

Up to ten writers will be offered a place based on work they’ve submitted by the application deadline, which is Thursday, April 23rd.

Dates: June 22nd - June 26th 2015

Times: Monday to Friday, 10.15am-4.30pm 

March 13th and 14th at Irish Writers Centre
