Nóra Butler

Nóra Butler was born in Dublin in 1981 and was educated at Trinity College Dublin and NUI Galway. She holds an M.Phil in Literary Translation from TCD and has published a number of academic papers examining the role of translation in shaping cross-currents between the Irish, German and Spanish theatre worlds. Her translation of Kurt Tucholsky’s 1929 vignette ‘The Crooked Hat’ (‘Der Schiefe Hut’) was the winner of the inaugural Some Blind Alleys translation award in 2009.
