Once I saw
A yellow bucket
Sunflower yellow
And full of red
Fleshy fierce red
Fishlike but not a fish
I saw a head
Something fished out though
Spooled and slippery shiny
Veined and coiled
As a pail of eels
Or some other briny creature
Something grown in the deep dark
Then expelled
Pushed into the world
Too early
Never spoken of
But remembered
That vivid picture
That untouchable
Little sister thing.
