This year marks the beginning of a whole new chapter for everyone involved with The Stinging Fly. As of March 2021, we are now a company limited by guarantee and I am delighted to welcome Amy Herron, Joseph Lawlor, Bush Moukarzel, Sally Rooney and Olivia Smith as directors of this new company.
I’m also delighted today to publish our new strategy document, which describes where we will focus our efforts over the next three years.
The strategy reaffirms our purpose, it sets out our vision and shares our values. Our core priorities remain unchanged. Working on the strategy has allowed us to better understand the work we do and to express why we believe that this work is important. I hope that reading the strategy will enable you—our readers and supporters—to understand what we do more clearly, too.
At a time when it can be a challenge to muster optimism and to hold onto it, I believe our new strategy and the new company structure will allow us to build upon our achievements and to continue our mission: to seek out, nurture, publish and promote the very best new writers and new writing.
