Dear friends,

I am delighted to announce today that my colleague Thomas Morris has agreed to take on the editorship of the magazine. This opens up an exciting new chapter for The Stinging Fly. Tom has been working alongside me for the past few years. I have every confidence in his abilities and in his commitment to the magazine.

I will continue as publisher of the magazine and as publisher/editorial director of the imprint. And I have plenty of other things to keep me going, including next year’s Davy Byrnes Short Story Award. We have been steadily expanding our work beyond publishing the magazine over the past few years. It remains, however at the very heart of what we do.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supports us in our work – our writers and our readers, our subscribers and patrons and funders.

Happy solstice, happy Christmas – and here’s to 2014 and all that it brings our way.

Onwards!

Declan
