We’re very proud to be opening the 2018 edition of the Dublin Book Festival with a celebration of our twenty years in action. On Thursday, November 15th, we’ll be joined at Smock Alley Theatre by Wendy Erskine, Oisín Fagan, Lisa McInerney, Sean O’Reilly and Sally Rooney, for a number of readings and conversations about the magazine’s past, present, and future.
The event kicks off at 6.30pm, and tickets cost €10 (or €8 concession). You can get tickets from the DBF website, and booking is advised.
Here’s what the DBF programme has to say:
Since the publication of its first issue in March 1998, The Stinging Fly magazine has worked to publish and promote the very best new Irish and international writing. Earlier this year, it marked its twentieth anniversary with the publication of Stinging Fly Stories, an anthology of 40 short stories originally published in the magazine. Join the founding editor Declan Meade and current editor Sally Rooney for this special event as they introduce a programme of music, readings and reminiscences by contributors past and present including authors Wendy Erskine, Oisin Fagan, Lisa McInerney and Sean O’Reilly. Music by Larry Beau.
