Marie is a psychologist and writer. She completed her degree in psychology at Kabul University after which she went to India to complete a master’s degree in communication management. Living back in Kabul she worked as a communications manager for various NGOs whilst also establishing her own women-led counselling service, called The Meaning of Life. Marie is a contributor to My Pen Is the Wing of a Bird (MacLehose Press, 2022), Rising After the Fall (Scholastic, 2023), My Dear Kabul (Coronet/Hodder, 2024) and Tongueless Speaker (Nogaam, 2024). Her short stories have appeared in Moveable Type, The Markaz Review and Writers Mosaic. Marie now lives in Germany.
