In the Sunday Independent, Anne Cunningham says that “Stinging Fly Stories is a stunning collection.” “There are 40 stories here, all various, dissimilar, accomplished, whole,” she says. “Almost all are, as the introduction promises, bright bullets.”

Meanwhile, in the Irish Times, Catherine Taylor remarks of the anthology that “ordinary people and desperate situations make for some extraordinary interpretations.” It is, she says, “an almost overwhelmingly excellent compilation.”

Taylor’s personal favourite from the anthology, Keith Ridgeway’s ‘Andy Warhol’, is available to read on the RTE Culture website, as are stories by Claire-Louise Bennett, Sinead Morrissey, Danielle McLaughlin, and Kevin Curran. You can also listen to the latter two stories, read by Lucy Sweeney Byrne and Karl Parkinson respectively, on the most recent episode of our podcast.
